There could be multiple reasons for that

  1. If a payment seems suspicious
  2. If your Stripe account is new
  3. Having high dispute rate

It’s likely due to Stripe’s fraud prevention, regulatory requirements, or your checkout settings likely trigger phone number verification during payment.

If you’ve used Stripe or Link before with your number, it will try to confirm it’s really you before proceeding.

we can skip it, in some cases. There’s a “Pay without Link” option at the bottom, which lets you pay without verifying via phone or using saved information.
